The Mark St. Leger hands on workshop at Barb's
Barn started on a rainy Sunday morning |
This was the first class after the addition of the
three AAW Grant mini lathes |
Mark St. Leger, Bob Rosand, and Linda Van
Gehuchten all honored us by autographing the lathes |
As the members begin to arrive, Sam Ciccia in his rain gear brings in his lathe |

Muriel Kummer and Linda Spors bring in their equipment |
We were fortunate to have not only Mark St. Leger, but Linda Van
Gehuchten as well as Bob and Susan Rosand with us for the weekend |
The rest of the class attendees continue to arrive and set up |
Bob Rosand works on smoothing the tool rests on the new lathes |

As Bob continues to work on the lathes as he and Linda Van G lend a hand |
Promptly at 9 am Mark gets the days workshop kicked off |
Mark uses one of the brand new AAW grant lathes as he demos the first project |
He breaks up the projects into major steps and then has the group walk through it a major step at a time |

The first project was to make a properly sized, split ring clamp to hold the top later in the morning |
Jim Meier working as each student makes their own split ring clamp |
With that accomplished, the group gets back together for the next step of the project |
This was the body of the top and the Corian ring |
