Jim Vasi, President of Turners 1, was the instructor for turning goblets |
Saturday, June 15th, was a beautiful day at Barb's Barn |
Jim started by roughing the stock to a cylinder and putting a spigot on the end |
With a spigot, the stock can be put in a chuck and worked from the cup end |

|
The cup is shaped, hollowed, sanded, and finished while there is plenty of support |
Once the cup is completed, the stem is formed, progressively towards the base |
The stem and base decoration are completed, then the goblet is parted off |
There was a capacity crowd at the Barn for Jim's goblet workshop |
