Saturday, June 9th was "Kids Day at the Barn" |
The instructor for the day was Bob Rosand with Jake Debski and Jim Hilburger helping |
The day was all about getting kids started in woodturning |
Each student had a lathe and a helper |

Bob had several projects for the students to learn and then do |
Part of the learning was sharpening |
Bob walked through the sequence for each project and then the students worked on their own |
One of the projects was an oil lamp |

Ed Jolls, always a big supporter of the Barn efforts, stops by |

Later in the day, Jim Hilburger does a demo of turning tops |
Jim shows the kids the steps he uses to turn a top in under 2 minutes |

His top turning is always a big hit at the fund raising events |
Over the course of the day, each student has plenty of hands on time |
The class was supported by a grant from the AAW |
It was a great day for some young turners getting a great start in turning |
