Once the fit is proper, the rest of the acorn top is shaped

Any texturing or special decoration can be done while there is sufficient strength

The top of the ornament is shaped where it can be reached

The top is parted off and the scrap is shaped to create a jam chuck for the top

The top of the ornament top can now be finished

With the top and bottom of the acorn ornament done, it's time to assemble them

Ca on one side and accelerator on the other provides a quick set once assembled

The assembled ornament

A piece of stock is chucked to make the perch
