With most of the class ready, Bob starts the demo of the top of the ornament |
The outside dimension is taken to mark the lid interface |
The top of the ornament is cut to mate with the bottom |

Once the fit is proper, the rest of the acorn top is shaped |
Any texturing or special decoration can be done while there is sufficient strength |
The top of the ornament is shaped where it can be reached |
The top is parted off and the scrap is shaped to create a jam chuck for the top |

The fit needs to be reasonably snug |
The top of the ornament top can now be finished |
With the top and bottom of the acorn ornament done, it's time to assemble them |
Ca on one side and accelerator on the other provides a quick set once assembled |
