There were two days of hands on workshops with Bob Rosand at Barb's Barn in November |
Tony Zielinski wheels in his grinder for the session he attended |
With each days attendance at 10 or so, the turners get set up before the class |
The instructor for the sessions was Bob Rosand |

Members from the four area AAW chapters attended the sessions |
Bob started off with the acorn ornament |
The perch and bird holes are drilled in the blank prior to mounting and rounding |
After shaping the outside, leaving enough for strength, the inside is hollowed |

The finishing cuts are made on the inside |
The bottom of the ornament is now thinned and shaped |
The acorn bottom is parted off |
The left over scrap is shaped to make a jam chuck for the acorn bottom |

Mounted on the jam chuck allows the bottom to be finished |
After completion, the bottom is removed from the jam chuck |
At that point, the class sets about making the first part of this ornament |
Father Jim stops in to watch some of the class and say hello to Bob |
