--Jim Vasi
announced he will retire as president after 14 years of great leadership. At
the December meeting YOU can nominate a member for the position of President
and Recording Secretary, as both of the current officers would like to step
down. The remaining officers have agreed to serve another year. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS YOUR CLUB AND IF YOU WOULD
LIKE TO SERVE IN ANY POSITION, JUST VOLUNTEER. THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS WILL
BE AT THE JANUARY MEETING.
--With regard to the club
incorporating, once we find a lawyer to work pro-bono, both clubs will
incorporate.

Feldman discussed
his relationship with “The Roycrafters” and their
need for some of our woodturners to teach others
and/or make some items and sell them there. To become a Roycrafter
you must submit a photo of your work on CD in December, and they will judge it
in February. If your interested, talk to Marwin.

--The “KIDS DAY TURNING SEMINAR” at Barb’s Barn turning facilities has been

trip to West Penn hardwoods in
--There will be an all-day, hands-on, turning
fundamentals class at Barb's Barn on Sunday, November 12th. The
class will cover tools, equipment, sharpening, basic turning skills, and
safety. The instructor for the class will be Kurt Hertzog. For more details or

--TOYS ARE NEEDED FOR THE CERABRAL PALSY KIDS. Tuesday
Dec 12th, is the Christmas Party at Aspire. Bring your toys to the
Nov or Dec meetings or to Jim Shimwell’s home. On
Tuesday November 14th, the Aspire organization will host a luncheon
at The Adams Mark Hotel honoring groups who have worked for the Christmas
celebration in the past. Jim Shimwell and his wife plus Bob Ball, Steve Imerese, Rich Mialki, Jim Hilburger, Jim Vasi, Harry Vogel,
and Ben Klinger will attend.

Demo:
Steve Imerese did a great job showing us the
homemade turning and hollowing tools he and others have made. His attitude is,
make the tool to do the job you are trying to do. It makes everything go better. Use old drill
bits, sharpened to your need. Thanks
