TURNING A RING STAND AND BOX

MATERIALS

Wood block approximately 3" x 3" x T

2 rubber bands — I found the best on broccoli at the grocery store

TOOLS

Scroll chuck (I used a Oneway with #2 jaws) —a faceplate with a %" x 6" diameter disk could also be used. Gouge Scraper Parting tool Caliper

Drill chuck with 3/16" drill Sandpaper

PROCEDURE

Rough turn block between centers to approximately 3" diameter with a V-T wide x 2" diameter sprocket

Chuck sprocket in the scroll chuck or glue in a 2" diameter hole cut in the wood disk attached to the faceplate and bring the the tailstock in place.

Rough turn the piece to no more than 2 3/8" diameter. This is approximately the maximum diameter the # 2 jaw will accept
