Turners 2 December 2008 Meeting

Ned Evans started off the show and tell

Pat Bogan has been turning stoppers and oil lamps

A lidded box and bowls were shown by Lance Eggleston

Gerry Guenther showed his latest bowl

Don Rust has been doing segmented work

Some of the evenings demo topic were shown by Jim Hilburger

Ron Hudson showed some interesting turned gifts ideas

Jake Debski showed his latest natural edged bowl

The demonstration for the meeting was done by Jim Hilburger

Jim was demonstrating his methods for making holiday turnings

He mounts a block and lays it out for a three tiered snowman

The three large beads form the body of the snowman

There was a good sized crowd for his demo

The body portion, turned, sanded, and finished

A flat is sanded for the hat to sit on

A block of Walnut is mounted to make multiples of the hat

The first top hat is turned, complete with a wide brim

The first hat is sanded, finished, and parted off
