Some of the members reviewing the show and tell items before the meeting starts

There was a nice selection of items and materials

Frank Stanko, the evenings presenter, works on getting things ready for his demo

Jim Shimwell gets his materials layed out for the Aspire Toy project this Christmas season

The meeting drew about 45 members on the cool, but nice, summer evening

President Jim Vasi gets the meeting started

Ron Mostel, who will be moving soon, donated wood and a spiralling tool which were auctioned for the club

Short on time, show and tell was postponed to next month, and Frank Stanko starts his demo

There was a good crowd who stayed for the demo

Frank has brought in various Corian projects that he has done

He also prepared many in process items to better explain his techniques

The topics covered everthing from where to get it to how to buff it

Frank shows how well the material can be cut provided you use the proper blades

The material is usually available in 1/2 inch so bonding techniques are needed for thicker material

After prepping the stock, Frank gets two pieces glued and clamped

Being very abrasive, Frank prefers to scrape it rather than cut it based on the tool costs

With the lathe bed protected, he shows his technique for wet sanding Corian

The important part is to clear the swarf between grits

Frank ends with his technique for buffing Corian turnings to a high gloss

Jim Vasi presents the Certificate of Appreciation as Frank fields questions
