BOWL TURNING
9:30 – 11:30 PM
SKILL LEVEL, SOME TURNING EXPERIENCE HELPFUL
This class will cover start to finish turning a bowl on the wood lathe. Areas covered will be cutting the blank, mounting techniques, tool selection, and tool use, sanding and finishing. This is a “Hands On” class; each student will turn a bowl to take home.
It is suggested if you have turning tools, bring them. All other materials will be supplied.

PEN TURNING, TURNING ORNAMENTS
9:30 – 3:30 PM LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED
SKILL LEVEL, SOME TURNING EXPERIENCE HELPFUL
Spend the day learning how to turn pens and ornaments on the wood lathe. The course content will include material selection and preparation, lathe setup, mounting techniques, turning techniques, and finishing. You”ll make a basic pen kit and ornament to take home. Over the course of the day, you’ll see everything demonstrated and have plenty of time at the lathe doing your own turning projects. All materials are provided. This is a “learn and do, hands on class”. Students are welcome to bring their own turning tools or use classroom tools

SHARPENING A TO Z
9:30 – 3:30 LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED
SKILL LEVEL ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS TO MORE EXPERIENCED
During the class we will sharpen knives, drill bits, carving tools, turning tools, chisels, plane irons, and more. The course content will include the use of various sharpening systems, jigs, and fixtures, selection and maintenance of sharpening systems. Over the course of the day you’ll see everything demonstrated and then have plenty of time to try your hand at various techniques on your own tools. Feel free to bring in your edged workshop tools that need attention. This is a “learn and do, hands-on” class.

TABLE SAW AND BAND SAW SET-UP AND TUNE-UP
Spend the day learning how
to set-up and tune-up your table saw and band saw. During the class, we will
cover initial set-up and adjustment of these tools right out of the box, blade
selections, maintenance, additional jigs, and fixtures, and tuning your saw to
peak performance.
Over the course of the class, you’ll see everything demonstrated and then have time to try your hand at various techniques. This is a “learn to do, hands on” class.

INTRODUCTION TO SCROLL SAW
The class will focus on
set-up and techniques used in the successful use of the scroll saw. Included
will be blade selection, wood selection, and operational techniques, Each student will have hands-on time on the scroll saw.

FUNDAMENTALS OF WOODTURNING
Spend the day learning how
to turn on the wood lathe. The course content will include safety, tool &

learn stance, sight picture, tool techniques equipment set-up and more. Over
the course of the day you’ll see everything demonstrated and then have plenty
of time at the lathe doing your own turning project. All materials are

bring their own tools or use the classroom tools.

TURNING A PEPPERMILL ON THE LATHE
Learn how to turn a
functional Peppermills on the wood lathe. The course will cover selection of
materials, set-up of the lathe, turning of the Peppermill, drilling and
installing the mechanism. Each student will turn their own working peppermill.
